What's the oldest thing in your fridge?
four placentas.
Kidding. Some crab legs are not the oldest, but scariest. Some quinoa from at least a month ago, a bottle of artichokes from last year or maybe 2001.

Came up, talked to me, turned out we knew each other.
How often do you dream of another life?
A life without kids?
A life without your husband?
A different husband?
A different place?
Kids and no spouse?
A life alone?
How are you ringing in the New Year tonight?
Quietly at home.
I've never enjoyed new years eve, even when i went out. Too many expectations for fun.
I do have to go and check the school for vandals a few times.

If you're reincarnated, what do you think you'll come back as?
Submitted by Diana.
If i'm lucky i'll come back as me. Just without the debilitating depression. So that i can really enjoy this life and all the things it has offered me.
yeah so its undoubtedly clear to everyone at this point that i'm struggling pretty badly with the PA stuff. i'm actually thinking of going to see my therapist today, so i can pay someone to watch me weep uncontrollably. that's bound to be helpful, right?
anyway, i don't have anything to say this week that isn't fucking depressing as shit. so i'm going to stop talking. at least until i stop crying.
but: i made a donation to the Amish School Recovery Fund, and you should too if you can. Go here.
I made a Fall Mix CD a few weeks back, and put this song on it as the closing tune. But I don't think it meant half as much to me then as it does now, after the events in PA on Monday... I've been listening to it on and off all day today, tearing up.
Okay, bawling.
Cat Power - “The Greatest”
Once I wanted to be the greatest
No wind or waterfall could stall me
And then came the rush of the flood
Stars of night turned deep to dust
Melt me down
Into big black armour
Leave no trace of grace
Just in your honour
Lower me down
To culprit south
Make 'em wash a space in town
For the lead
And the dregs of my bed
I've been sleepin'
Lower me down
Pin me in
Secure the grounds
For the later parade
Once I wanted to be the greatest
Two fists of solid rock
With brains that could explain
Any feeling
Lower me down
Pin me in
Secure the grounds
For the lead
And the dregs of my bed
I've been sleepin'
For the later parade
Once I wanted to be the greatest
No wind or waterfall could stall me
And then came the rush of the flood
Stars of night turned deep to dust
...............
PS: Thank you to Gayla for reminding me.
